Welcome to the third edition of the Wellred Weekly in which you will find a veritable feast of reading material, some of it on a festive theme.

Have you ever wondered how to spot a fellow spanko in the street or your local department store? Beth dishes out some tips on what to look for. Meanwhile, Mati gives us an insight into German winter traditions involving St. Nicholas and his dastardly, birch-wielding sidekick, the Krampus. So lock your doors and draw the blinds and prepare yourselves for a fright. Moving from Germany to Victorian London, Februs shows 'the English vice' was alive and kicking in the brothels offering flagellation services to their clients. He makes reference to a few of the more notorious female flagellants who ran these profitable establishments.

I'm delighted to introduce Flogmaster as our featured author in this issue. He tells us what inspires him to write spanking fiction, and shares some of his personal favourite stories. The interview theme continues with a conversation with spanking artist Dave Wolfe. He talks about his art and his ideas, and illustrates his points with some wonderful cartoons.

Rollin takes a look at the huge market for spanking videos, focusing on the F/M orientation. In addition to pointing out the overwhelming lack of plot and thin dialogue apparent in many commercial spanking videos, he examines the action within F/M scenarios and highlights some of the problems, including the demise of authentic-looking male subs. For those of you who are looking for something other than a spanking video to give a fellow spanko this Christmas, Sugarmouse provides some creatively festive ideas ranging from slippers to wooden spoons and cricket bats!

Who better to assess a spanking story than TheEnglishMaster, who navigates through thousands of spanking stories and looks at the important components that hold our attention, arriving at the conclusion that "never in the field of human fantasy has so much been penned by so many to so naughtily light our fuse." And, if you want to light the fuse of your partner, try spicing up your relationship with a bit of slap and tickle (especially the slap) - Eileena Cross gives us some tips on popping the spanking question.

We all have our favourite spanking implements. Jimisim praises the plimsoll, demonstrating its widespread use in the 1960s in many schools in England and Wales. He adds a personal perspective too, recalling the varying degrees of sensation upon his own posterior. Lifestyle disciplinarian Lady Pandora uses the plimsoll plus a whole range of other implements during the course of her work. She provides traditional, English-style punishments for her clients. Read her interview to learn why she has "the best job in the world." We also present part 2 of Grace Brackenridge's learned article relating to the complex set of ideas that constitute the psychology of spanking. She looks at some of the problems with empirical research, makes reference to critics of spanking research, and explores some of the effects of spanking fiction.

The remainder of the information presented in this issue reflects the addition of a new section (News) which is devoted to spanking news from around the world; what we previously called News is now renamed Library Lunacy - well, what other name could we use to depict the bonkers exploits of LSF members? Have a chuckle as you read all about them.

Merry Christmas!
