Items of interest regarding all things spanking

Depending on one's perspective, some spanking implements are regarded as the best thing since sliced bread, whilst others scare us silly. Erica Scott explores this theme and recalls from painful personal experience just why she has a negative association with fraternity paddles (not to mention the Neanderthal who used one irresponsibly on her). Erica's article is complemented by Sarah Thorne's piece as she explores the concept of domestic discipline and explains why it works for her.

In the days before tablets, Kindles, DVD's and the internet, there was a preponderance of strange bound papery things called books - including 'adult' books. Rollin's article pays homage to the spanko author Will Henry, a man who knew how to depict the marriage of spanking and sex in the written form. Rick Marlowe is the featured author in this issue, and provides an insight into his spanking fiction preferences.

Still on the interview theme, we are pleased to explore the spanking art of femdom artist, Sardax. As you will see from the illustrations, his drawings are both creative and inspirational. We also chat to spanking photographer, Cliff James, known for his work with Kane magazine. He recalls some personal anecdotes and gives us an insight about his work.

Spring is here and both weeds and flowers are sprouting up in glorious profusion in gardens everywhere. As we all rush out with our trowels and pruners, Hermione jumps in to give us some valuable advice. No longer will we throw away the prunings from trees and shrubs. Instead we will turn them into handy birch rods and participate in a range of spanko-related gardening activities. And if it rains, we can venture indoors to read Emanuele's article praising the merits of the hairbrush - a must for the arsenal of any serious spanko. Let there be no doubt that hairbrushes are not only used for the brushing of hair!

Super sleuth Februs hands us the proverbial can of worms as he provides an account of his investigations into Alice Kerr-Sutherland, famed for being a dominatrix and author of A Guide To The Correction Of Young Gentlemen. But you must read the article and scratch your head in puzzlement as you try to draw your own conclusions as to whether Alice Kerr-Sutherland ever actually existed. Moving on from the chastisement of young gentlemen to the chastisement of young (or maybe not so young!) schoolgirls, edb takes a nostalgia trip down Memory Lane, remembering nubile schoolgirls adorned in school uniform. He acknowledges what fun it is when the older woman dresses as a schoolgirl to engage in some fun role-playing activities behind closed doors. Oh to be a fly on the wall!

Katerina Kinsley, reviewer of the latest CP works at the Bottoms Up Books Review web site poses the question - What makes a great spanking novel? The answer? Well, lots of things - including plot, character development, creative writing and emotional impact. She reckons "The book that stands out is the one that can come up with a new way for a gal to find mischief, get caught, and end up with a sore tush for her trouble." Moving on from books to magazines, our final article in this issue charts the rise and fall of the spanking mag. Nick Urzdown informs us about the spanking special published in the early days of Janus which revolutionised the world of CP fiction, subsequently brought to an end by the advent of the internet. Read and enjoy!

Difficult except possibly with a large, thick-cut frozen slice. The crumbs would be a problem.

Now for what I intended to comment on. While in the last few years examples of Neanderthal art have been discovered, there is no evidence that they engaged in spanking, or if they did, that they were more cruel or vigorous in its execution, except by deduction from their well-developed musculature and stocky build, which probably meant Neanderthal females had well-developed bottoms.

It is therefore unfair to Neanderthals to attribute excessive zeal in spanking to them.

Sliced bread- I like mine toasted with butter and cinnamon.. So, can we agree a buttered bottom is a tasty dish?

Barrett. I prefer to think of Neanderthalls as spankers rather than clubbers;. drunken cavemen have little control over their swat placement.

Great opening, Flopsy!

Yum - sounds like a rich collection, and delightfully introduced as always, Madame Editrix.
I remember those 'strange bound papery things' - amazing to think we used to actually hold those "books" before our eyes and READ, rather than have our fictions uploaded straight into our brains by the Amazon Electrospankimaginofeed.
