Topping for Lupus When I did a movie shoot with Lupus Pictures in 2009, it was a long-held dream come true. I had been a die-hard Lupus fan for almost ten years at the time, and they still remain my favourite CP movie producer today. I had also become friends with Niki Flynn, the first Western spanking model to ever work with the infamous "werewolves from the East". It was because of Niki's work with Lupus that I first contacted her, and it was Niki who inspired me to explore my kink and start writing my own spanking blog. As a blogger and movie reviewer, I was exchanging emails with the Lupus guys on a semi-regular basis. One day, I made a suggestion disguised as a joke, that they should give me a role in one of their videos sometime. They joked back, asking whether I would want a role as a bottom (Lupus don't usually do F/M!). But it turned out that they were interested in working together, and soon, we were talking seriously. I would guest star as a top in one of their films and write a behind-the-scenes report about it on my blog. I got an email in their lovely broken English, asking me for a "civil photo" and whether I had suggestions for a scenario. They also wanted to know whether I would prefer a small role or a bigger one. I decided on bigger - if I was going to make a fool out of myself trying to be an actor, I might as well do it thoroughly. Ideas for scenarios? Definitely the 19th century, the Austrian Empire, Bohemia under the Habsburgs. It was a time and place I loved as a historian and we could really explore the German-Czech history of the time. How about something set during the Prague uprising of 1848? The girlfriends of Czech rebel leaders, interrogated by the Austrian secret police (which was almost as ruthless as their colleagues from Czarist Russia). Vicious canings, some political commentary about imperialism and oppression... In summary, loads of fun. I sent them the proposal (together with a "civil photo"). They said okay, good idea. "We will film in October. Let us know which dates are suitable for you." Wow, I thought, all of this is turning out much easier than I expected! Then, a couple of weeks later, the October date fell through. I was bitterly disappointed, but Thomas Marco, the producer, contacted me to say that he was sorry and explained in detail why he could not do the shoot at the time. He told me not to worry - our movie was postponed, but not cancelled. We would simply do it the following year and he was very much looking forward to it. When I next heard from them, they told me they would be shooting with Adele Haze in June and asked if I'd like to play the role of an officer who seduces two daughters and then has to punish them in front of their grandmother. It was a totally different idea than the one we had been talking about previously (oh well, no 1848 revolution), but I liked it. The video was to be titled A Garden Party (Lupus LP-068).   In the weeks before the shoot, I made the usual preparations - learning the script, trying the lines at home, caning practice with a pillow, arranging the trip and booking the hotel. My character in A Garden Party didn't have a Shakespearean amount of lines, but there was some dialogue, and I would have to do it in Czech. The story was about a small-town family in the Bohemian countryside, sometime in the late 19th century: two young ladies of good standing, Anna and Julie, their despotic grandmother, Hermina Postolka, and her husband Ferdinand, a jovial man who likes to "jolly around" with other women. Especially with their Ukrainian housemaid Olena (played by Adele). As for me, I played Hans the dragoon, a member of the local military garrison, Anna's suitor and almost a family member. Finally, there was the local druggist and his pretty wife. The grandmother sets up a formal garden party with everyone attending (she wants some new ointments from the druggist) and it all goes from there. I won't spoil the delightfully silly plot for you, but as you can imagine, the two Czech girls get thrashed for something or another before the movie is over, and the Ukrainian maid gets it too. There would be one birching followed by a caning scene with the girls, featuring the grandmother and Hans as the tops. Later on, the grandmother forces her husband to punish the maid (for jollying around once too often). Reading through the script I did wonder who was going to play the role of Anna. I was most nervous about the opening scene of the movie with her and Hans. Not only did it contain most of my lines, it was also supposed to be a love scene - and a comedic one at that. Well, at least the sex would only be simulated. I am a purist who does not like distracting hardcore scenes in CP films, and moreover, my girlfriend Kaelah would have killed me!   "But grandma, no...!" When it came time to shoot the film, I arrived in Prague with Kaelah well before the day of the shoot in order to take a few days holiday. Producer Thomas Marco came out to meet us and quickly filled me in about the movie. Anna was going to be played by Ester Slaba, one of their most experienced "professional victims". She had already done about a dozen films. After this first chat, we went to the Lupus Pictures studio for a quick costume trial. I had heard so much about it from friends like Niki and Adele, I sometimes felt like I had been there myself. But of course, the real place still looked totally different from my imagination. I tried on three soldier's uniforms and we selected the one you see me wearing in the film. The movie was to be shot at a country house location which had also been used for a previous Lupus film entitled Fairy Tale: The Magic Purse. The first scene to be filmed was the love scene with Ester and me. Well, I thought, at least we're getting the most awkward one out of the way first! In the scene, Hans the dragoon persuades Anna to a round of "horse style" sex against the manor wall. continued...
