What could be better than kicking off the new year with a spanked bottom and the latest issue of the Wellred Weekly?! Welcome to the 4th edition, packed with all manner of spanko-related ramblings for your entertainment and delight.

Our first article is from Neil who gives us an insight into how he explored his spanko tendencies by visiting a Pro-Domme and later attending a spanking party, culminating in something not easily achieved - 'coming out' to friends and family as a spanko. Next, we have Flogmaster presenting his take on the six key plots of spanking fiction, emphasising that within each plot there is infinite variation for making unique stories, incorporating significant elements including setting, characterisation, tone and point-of-view.

I'm delighted to introduce an old friend of mine (well maybe not so old, as you will see from her photographs!) - Emma Bishop, spanking model and actress. Emma shares with us her thoughts and experiences of the spanking scene and discusses her plans for the coming year. For those of you who love words and share in the delights of reading and writing rhymes, js-anon transports the somewhat dull-sounding iamb and trochee, anapest and dactyl, into something wonderful! He discusses his enthusiasm and inspiration for writing verse, relating it to the topic dear to our hearts - spanking!

Nibra takes us for a trip down memory lane with a nostalgic portrayal of his schoolday recollections from the 1930's. This was a time when corporal punishment in schools and in the home was not only commonplace, but an accepted part of daily life. His journey starts from his early school days and continues to his teacher training during the 1950's and subsequent career. Next we have a highly insightful essay from The English Master on the musings of writings, in which he elevates form structure and language as key precepts with which to analyse spanking fiction, and celebrates the range and diversity of material available in the Library of Spanking Fiction.

Now we arrive at this issue's interview with an author, and I have pleasure introducing ... um, er, myself! Writing spanking stories is a bit like cooking - one adds a dash of humour peppered with a pinch of intrigue, a pot-full of experience, and a slice of imagination, and maybe a soupcon or two of eroticism; then we stir it all together (using a wooden spanking spoon of course) and let it simmer nicely. I enjoy what I write, and if others enjoy it too that's a real bonus and I'm a happy bunny. Moving on, from the multipurpose wooden spoon to the redoubtable instrument of correction - the tawse, our Scottish correspondents Kirsty McHaggis & Philomena McPorridge (honest!) provide some noteworthy facts about the leather strap. And of course, the article wouldn't be complete without a mention of the Lochgelly tawse manufactured by John J Dick.

Not all our online friends turn out to be quite what we expect. (Were I not the soul of discretion I could tell you a few rambunctious tales on this topic that would make your ears curl!) We can have men masquerading as women and women pretending to be men. Thomas Bruns examines the cyber persona and provides some tips leading to safely meeting up with the real person behind the keyboard, with a view to giving or receiving a real and proper spanking not a silly cyber one. Next, Fulgur, one of the authors here at the LSF, gives us a valuable insight into what life is like for a spanko with Asperger's Syndrome. He raises our awareness of this disorder by explaining aspects of the condition relating to his own experiences.

And as we enter 2012, we take a look back at some of the key issues affecting the LSF during the last year. Februs outlines the development of various site enhancements, mentions the Challenges that have taken place, and the launch of the Wellred Weekly. He then pulls out all the stops with his technical wizardry to produce statistics galore - so feast your eyes on colourful graphs and pie charts. Thank you all for your support and encouragement.

Happy New Year!
